Pet Sitter in Suffolk, Virginia

Animals have always been a part of my life. My family has always had pets, including cats, dogs, mice, gerbils, hamsters, and chickens. In middle and high school, I volunteered in the Cat Room at the Peninsula SPCA, where I was responsible for looking after not just cats, but ferrets, rabbits, small parrots, and rodents including rats, gerbils, mice, hamsters, and guinea pigs. In college, I worked on my college's farm, where I worked mostly with pigs and chickens, but also with cattle, sheep, turkeys, and a donkey. I earned a reputation for being good with animals, especially the pigs. I also volunteered at Brother Wolf Animal Rescue, an animal shelter near my college, where I walked dogs. Currently, I volunteer at the Virginia Zoo in Norfolk, where my tasks include assisting the keepers in caring for the animals on the Zoo Farm (Kunekune pigs, alpaca, sheep, cattle) and presenting animals in hand (Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches, African Giant Millipedes, chickens, turtles, tarantulas). I can petsit any animal; walk dogs; assist with administering medical treatments; and board small animals.
