About Me: Nice to meet you! My name is Joslyn. I'm looking for an animal lover position in Los Angeles, California. I have taken care of a wide variety of pets, from a 4lb 14 year old chihuahua that required heart medication 3x a day to a 160lb mastiff who wanted to be a lap dog, to a 1 year old doberman who didn't get enough love but was a perfect gentleman. Service Abilities: I've dealt with everything from skunk attacks, bee stings, an intestinal blockage, various types of aggression, and even attacks from other dogs (I was actually the only one who got bit, and it was from the rouge dog that got away from from the owner at the park). I take the approach of being confident and exercising/entertaining the dog into behaving, whether that means we go outside for 5 min, have to go on a 10 mile hike, or play fetch for a couple hours. I love a good dog snuggle, but I'm fine if they prefer to be by themselves. However, I will not accept jobs that require me to enable unsafe behaviors. I do not correct for growling because this results in dogs that bite without warning, and please don't ask me to take them to the park and not tell me that there's a chance they will dismember the elderly purse pup when we walk by. If your dog requires socialization or training of some kind then that is something that we can discuss, but I will not force them to do something that they are uncomfortable with unless it's necessary (like taking meds or going outside).
