Hello I'm Ellie! My mom is currently manager of Eastwood Kennel and I've been working part time for her there for about 5 years now. Where I care for the animals and walk them daily. I also care for animals in their homes quite often, mostly for friends and family and people I've met through the kennel. I have also worked part time for a vet for 5 years so I am very familiar with animals and their behaviors. I have also worked beside a groomer for these years so I am familiar with giving nail trims and baths and basic hair cuts. I have cared for a variety of different breads and sizes and treat each and every dog as if they are my own. I've grown up having many animals and loved being around them. I know how to handle dogs in uncomfortable situations (such as a first time meeting) being calm and letting the dog know you first by smelling you and getting familiar with you. As I said before I worked for a vet so I am trained in what to do if I see a dog in distress. I know how to put harnesses on and leads, as well as collars and leashes. I love dog sitting in the owners home because it allows the dog to be free and comfortable in its own environment while allowing a new friends to care for him/her. While an owner is away it is best for the dog to be as stress free as possbile and house sitting is the way to go.
