Hi there! I am an energetic dog walker in the golden triangle area who is accepting new clients to take on pack walks and occasional adventures! A little bit about myself... I am 22 years old and currently a 4th year student at Carleton University. I am bilingual in English and American Sign Language and I work as a nanny in the evenings. I grew up on Vancouver Island in British Columbia and this is my first summer spent in Ottawa! I have experience with all dog types and tempers and I have one of my own. My background includes working with several rescue dogs as well as neglected/abused horses with whom I took a natural horsemanship approach. Confidence is key in any animal/human relationship, and a steady, balanced energy aids animals in feeling confident in themselves and their handlers. Being a dog owner myself, I understand the importance of socialization and exercise in keeping your doggo healthy and happy! Since my dog Jax will be with me on all walks, I can guarantee your dog will get socialization with every trip. We will be exploring centre/downtown areas, and visiting dog parks is always an option! Jax and I subscribe to the NILF training module (nothing in life is free) which requires him to sit before I open doors, or perform a trick or respond quickly to recall for a treat. This module has been proven to reduce anxiety and provide a structure which dogs find easy to understand and fulfilling. When each action earns a reward, positive behaviours are quickly learned and negative behaviours tend to fall away on their own. I am accepting clients Monday-Thursday 1030-130... PM and I offer a range of walk styles including, as I mentioned before, dog park and block walks. Price is negotiable. We look forward to hearing from you and your furry family member!
