You will lead a pack of 25-40 dogs in a large yard with 1-2 other individuals. Lucky Dog Daycare is a dog daycare and boarding facility located in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. We are looking for great people to lead in our active, fun and clean environment, and also wish to provide only the best of care to our furry canines. We are looking for individuals who: have a positive attitude and a strong work ethic have a "can-do" and "roll up your sleeves" attitude naturally smile and avoid naysayers and people with negative attitudes If you have a strong work ethic, incredibly dependable and never want to let the team down we would love it if you would apply for this position. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Manage and maintain a safe, clean, and fun dog playroom and yard. You will work morning shifts as early as 7am and/or work afternoon shifts that run as late as 6:15pm. You will positively engage with dogs in an open-play environment while keeping play areas clean. You will continuously be on your feet, establishing your "leader" status in the yard, while showing dogs positive attention, love and care. You will address dog behavioral issues proactively through your understanding of dog language and dog behavior (we will help train you on this). You will use redirection, recall, and basic training methods to effectively manage your play yard of dogs. This may also include a dog's need to relax in a crate and rotate between open play and relaxation in a crate. But it will NEVER include the use of physical force or punishment of a dog. We have a zero-tolerance policy for the mistreatment of animals. You must be vigilant and aware of your environment at all times. You must consistently attend to any special needs of dogs including, but not limited to, dogs that need to be crated when other dogs enter the playroom and when certain dogs cannot play together. Cleaning Responsibilities and Tasks You will continually monitor the play yard and keep it free of messes and hazards by immediately and continually cleaning up waste and doing basic yard maintenance. You will have daily cleaning assignments including, but are not limited to, sweeping, mopping, taking out the trash, sanitizing rooms and the lobby. Your cleaning procedures will involve the proper use of pet-safe chemicals to ensure a healthy, safe environment for both people and dogs. You must have the ability to lift equipment and doggies up to and sometimes exceeding 50lbs. Feeding, Health, and Wellness Services You will be asked to bathe dogs using proper bathing procedures. You'll do this without direct supervision and to our standards. Proper procedures include the use of appropriate shampoo for the dog, appropriate use of bathing equipment, and clean-up of the bathing area upon completion. You will be asked to assist in dog nail trims. And you may be asked to perform other services, such as walks, ear cleanings, and pet massages. You must be able to understand and follow, without exception, our dog feeding lists, medication list and allergy list to ensure that all health standards are met consistently. Team Player and Independent Worker You must work cohesively with our team in a respectful and professional manner. You are able to effectively communicate orally and written, and you utilize company tools to communicate relevant information daily to the manager and shift leaders. You maintain a positive attitude and demeanor in all aspects of your position including yard management and customer service. You are incredibly reliable and maintain impeccable time and attendance standards. You are on time for scheduled shifts, and in case of an emergency, you call in advance of your shift to allow time for proper coverage. You take your own development as a personal responsibility and use mistakes or challenges as an opportunity to grow to a higher standard of performance. Pay for Performance During your training and 90-day probationary period, your hourly rate is $8.00 per hour (negotiable pending previous animal care experience). After 90-days (and if you are in good standing and require no additional training), you will receive a raise. After that, we pay for performance. There is room for advancement. Shift times: Hours include Monday-Friday 7am-11:30am and 1:30pm-6pm. Saturday-Sunday 7am-11am and 2:30pm-6pm. We are flexible to schedule you around other work/school schedules, but you MUST be available for full shifts on weekdays and weekends. Must be available for minimum of 1 weekend shift every other weekend.. We are looking for 1-2 individuals for 15-25 hours per week.
