Dorothy is paws down the best pet / house sitter ever! She is trustworthy and kind, two traits animals instinctively tap into which makes her presence calming and reassuring to even the most weary. I have two dogs, one of them is very shy and most dog sitters have resigned to not walking him. Dorothy gained his trust within the first hour and was able to walk them both daily, no problem! She also has been excellent with my felines and made sure to shower them with TLC. Don't be surprised if u come home to a handmade catnip toy, another of Dorothy's hidden talents. I would definitely recommend Dorothy if you want happy healthy well cared for animals and a clean house upon your return. I have been using her cat/dog/house sitting services for the past 11 years.

Dorothy A has taken extremely good care of our dogs during our recent trip. She made sure they got their supplements, walked them daily, groomed them and she made sure they were safe. She comes once a week to walk them now that we're back. We appreciate Dorothy A. more than we can say! I highly recommend her for dog sitting/walking!

Dorothy is a gem. She has dog sat for me on a number of occasions in circumstances that were less than ideal for her, and she made the best of them and never complained, and my dog loved her. She dog sat for me for a month when my house was completely empty of furniture, curtains and most everything (I had just moved in, and had to leave for a month), and she did a great job. She was a trooper! She is honest, careful, diligent, lovely, and wonderful with animals. I recommend her without reservation. Whenever I had to go away, I knew my dog was in very good hands.

I have worked with Dorothy in a municipal shelter setting for approximately nine years. During the course of that time, hundreds of dogs have passed through the shelter doors. I have seen Dorothy with many, many dogs over the years and the connection between her and the lucky dog by Dorothy's side is always apparent. She has a very special gift when it comes to relating to animals. They sense her natural warmth and compassion and in turn relax and feel safe in her presence. Dorothy takes the time to get to know the animals she cares for-- she quickly comes to understand their fears and what brings them joy, what calms them when they are anxious, what distracts them when they are wary or fearful. Dorothy CARES about the dogs she is responsible for-- it is not just a job for her, it is establishing trust and building a relationship.
