Whether you are here to visit or here to stay, if you find yourself needing someone to look after your furry, feathered, or scaled companions we are here for you. We do not limit ourselves to dogs and cats either! We will happily come tend to your exotic and caged pet needs as well. We are incredibly passionate about helping both people and their pets. We consider ourselves very blessed to be able to call this our job. Founded by Brandi Castleberry, a local graduate of University of North Carolina Wilmington with a bachelor’s degree in Biology. With over 20 years experience working with all sorts of critters, you can be sure your pets are in good hands. We not only have experience with dogs and cats but also various large and caged pets such as goats, horses, rats, gerbils, hamsters, ferrets, birds, fresh & saltwater aquariums and more. We even offer exotic pet care for Sugar Gliders, Chinchillas, Guinea Pigs, various constrictors, monitor lizards, geckos, turtles and tortoises and the like. Whatever your pet needs are, we can help! There are a variety of reasons to enlist our services, including but not limited to: ‣ Going out of town and need an overnight pet-sitter to stay with your pet ‣ Need drop-in home services for your pet (including walks, feeding, administering medication, potty breaks, and/or accommodating a special need pet) ‣ Animal transport services ‣ Need someone to step in while you attend Military Training/Class Trips ‣ You would like to drop off your pet for Doggie Daycare Services ‣ Need to board your beloved pet while away If you have any questions or would like to book an appointment, please don't hesitate to reach out! *********************************************************************************** ▶︎ GET TO KNOW US ◀︎ The Home ◻︎ Pets staying in our home are welcome to any of the common living areas, unless they require kenneling, and can enjoy walks around the 22 acres our house sits on. Sizes Breeds ◻︎ All pets are equally loved, no breed or species discrimination here! We can make sure all your pet's personal needs are met during their stay. Medications Special Needs ◻︎ We have experience with pets who have special needs which include daily injections, oral medications, and/or physical accommodations. We require detailed instructions for your pet’s medications, such as dosages and administering time, and any special accommodations needed to provide your pet with the absolute best care possible! Puppies Potty Training ◻︎ We have experience with both potty training and basic commands. Leaving your puppy with us will not only be a fun-packed day with snuggles and play but also a learning experience. Daily Updates ◻︎ Photo Video updates of your pet will be provided 2-3 times per day. Want more? Just ask, we are more than happy to accommodate! Keeping your furry family member safe and happy are our top priorities. *********************************************************************************** ▶︎ PROVIDED SERVICES ◀︎ • Free Meet & Greet • ◻︎ Meet & greets are required before most services, including overnights, extended stays, and drop-in care. This is a 30–60-minute meet, free of charge, to discuss the needs of your pet along with your expectations and for you to meet the Caregiver and determine if your pet and the Caregiver are a good match. • Overnight & Extended Care • ◻︎ We are available to provide overnight care for your pet on location if that is what you desire. This can be one night or several. Extended overnight care will require a pre-designated amount of time for the Caregiver to be out of the house. This can range from 5-10 hours during the day for the Caregiver to attend to other matters. This will be something discussed during the required Meet & Greet before any overnight or extended sits. • House-Sitting • ◻︎ Basic house-sitting services are included with all overnight and extended services at no extra charge to you, just let us know what you need! This can include taking the trash to the curb and bringing back to the house on trash days, bringing in the mail paper, and watering plants. If you essentially own a nursery however, we may add a negotiable extra charge for watering & plant care. We can provide light cleaning services if requested. • Drop-In Visits • ◻︎ Drop-In visits can be one-time or be on-going at your discretion. Drop-in visits can include potty breaks, walks, feeding and watering time, medication administration, or play time. These visits are typically between 30-60 minutes and expectations will be discussed during the Meet & Greet. ▶︎ Cat Care ◻︎ Getaway OCS is committed to providing the utmost quality service for cats. Cats tend to be most comfortable when able to stay in their own environment and territories. We will do our absolute best to keep their routine as consistent as possible to reduce undue stress. Rest assured that all visits are customized to meet your feline’s needs as discussed during our Meet & Greet. ◻︎ Included in Cat Care Packages: ‣ 30- or 60-minute visit ‣ Meals & water refreshment ‣ Litter box cleaning ‣ Plenty of kitty love ▶︎ Dog Walking ◻︎ Dogs require regular exercise to live a balanced and healthy life. We provide a completely customizable walk/visit according to your dog’s needs. Our ultimate goal is to ensure your dog has a great day that includes new smells, new friends, and plenty of exercise. ◻︎ Included in our Dog Walking Packages: ‣ 30- or 60-minute walk ‣ Water refreshment and, if necessary, meals ‣ Proper walking etiquette/training reinforcement ‣ New sights and smells for the enrichment of your pet ‣ Plenty of love and patience ▶︎ Boarding Doggie Hotel ◻︎ We have a spacious home located on a 22-acre lot with a dedicated room for boarding that will accommodate up to 4 dogs in separate large, metal framed kennels that your dog will occupy for the night, unless otherwise requested. In addition, we have smaller plastic carriers for toy breeds or cats. During the day, your pet may have free roam of the common living quarters and will be allowed on furniture unless you request otherwise. We ask that you consider the following: ‣ Boarding is by appointment only with a previously agreed upon pick-up and drop-off time. ‣ Boards are charged per animal. *Discounts may apply, please contact for more details.* ‣ Check-out times for Boarding Doggie Hotel are between 9AM and 11AM, if your pet needs a later check-out time you will incur an extra fee for requiring Doggie Daycare services. ‣ Drop-off and pick-up times are scheduled between 9AM and 7PM only. ‣ If you cannot pickup your pet by 7PM, call us and let us know. You will have an additional 20-minute time frame (meaning 7:20PM) to pick-up your pet for an additional fee of $15. If you cannot pick-up your pet by this time, your pet will not be released until the following morning starting at 9AM, and you will incur an additional boarding fee. ‣ Please provide your own food for the comfort of your pet. If you do not supply food or if we run out during your pet's stay, we will feed your pet our food which may not be the same as your preferred brand or type. Disclaimer: Dogs and cats can experience upset tummy due to changing food. ‣ Please feel free to bring any preferred treats, toys or bedding your pet may require during their stay. ▶︎ Doggie Day Care ◻︎ We can keep your pet in our home for Doggie Daycare between the hours of 9AM and 7PM only. Doggie Daycare services are by appointment only and will be subject to the Meet & Greet. Per “parent” preference, we can take your dog on walks, to the beach, to the dog park, or keep at our home to be loved on and play on our 22-acres. ‣ If you cannot pickup your pet by 7PM, call us and let us know. You will have an additional 20-minute time frame (meaning 7:20PM) to pick-up your pet for an additional fee of $15. If you cannot pick-up your pet by this time, your pet will not be released until the following morning starting at 9AM, and you will incur an additional boarding fee. ‣ We only take up to 4 dogs at a time, regardless of if they are from the same family. This means that during your pets stay, other pets may come for services as well. If your pet is aggressive towards other animals or people, or otherwise needs to be the only pet receiving services while in our care, please let us know and we will try to accommodate. ‣ We will not take females in heat. ‣ We will accept puppies, kittens and in-tact animals. ▶︎ PLEASE NOTE ◀︎ ✳︎ We reserve the right to cancel services at any time due to unacceptable behavior and aggression. We do not believe in "aggressive breeds" however, we will require any pets to pass a behavior check to ensure the safety of our Caregivers, home, and other pets, when applicable. *********************************************************************************** Taking care of animals is our full-time job and we pride ourselves in providing the best care possible! We do offer boarding and Doggie Daycare services by appointment only. For services in our home, your furry companion will be treated like another member of the family. This includes free-roam of the common living areas and being allowed on furniture, unless otherwise specified. Services in your home will be kept as close to the pet's existing schedule/routine as possible for the comfort of your pet. *********************************************************************************** ▶︎ What we would like to know about your pet ◀︎ We need to know about any specific behaviors, personality traits, quirks, or special care instructions your pet has before a service can take place. To provide the best service possible, we need to know things your pet may fear or what they do not like, as well as their most favorite things. In addition, we will need to discuss any medical conditions, allergies, aggression (male aggressive, dog aggressive, food aggressive, toy aggressive, etc.), separation anxiety, health issues, destructive behaviors, preferred exercise level, etc. This is usually done during the Meet & Greet. We prefer for this to be in person, though we can offer a virtual Meet & Greet for extenuating circumstances. We understand sometimes you may need our services last minute due to someone else canceling on you or one of life's many emergencies and we will try to accommodate those situations the best we can.
