Hello! I’m a Zoo & Conservation Major at Otterbein University, but I’m originally from Arkansas. I go back home during breaks, but I am a full time student on campus any other time. My schedule for spring semester is a lot to take on. Mondays and Tuesdays I’m available after 5pm; Wednesdays and Fridays I’m available after 2pm; Thursdays I’m available before 11am, between 3pm and 6pm, and after 9pm; Saturday I’m completely available; and Sundays I have a morning class, but I’m otherwise completely available. I unfortunately do not have any dogs, but I have a pet snake and cat in my own household. I also have a betta fish in my dorm. I am an animal lover and will love any animal like it’s my own. I do have experience working with dogs and am not a stranger to their wellbeing and care requirements. I’m open and willing to discuss any boundaries and/or details of service and care. I spent the entirety of my senior year in high school interning with my local Humane Society, taking care of the cats and dogs as they came in and as they went through spay and neuters. By the second semester of my senior year, I had three jobs: Intern, AP Lead at Old Navy, and I had recently been hired at my local doggy daycare, Camp Bow Wow. Camp Bow Wow had just opened in my area and I had the opportunity to train with corporate and work with this business from the very beginning. I was a camp counselor, but I was trained in both front of house and back of house. I plan to continue my work with them during breaks when I’m back in my hometown. I’m proud of the establishments that I worked for and I hope to be able to provide the same quality of service.

Factors that impact pet sitting cost

Planning a trip as a pet owner? Hiring a pet sitter is an excellent solution for care for your furry friend. Before you hire a pet sitter, it's important to understand the factors that affect the cost of their services:

  • Time and Duration - Pet sitters usually charge either a daily or hourly rate. The length of time you require care for will affect your final costs. Many pet sitters will also offer package deals and discounts for longer bookings.
  • Your pet’s needs - Consider the frequency of your dog's walks, or your cat's feeding schedule. Different services will have different prices. Some pet sitters also offer extra services like administering medication, grooming, or even behavioral training, which may increase the cost.
  • Location - The cost of pet care will range across the country city-by-city depending on the cost of living in your city area.
  • Years of Experience - The level of experience of the pet sitter will also have a factor on pricing. More experienced sitters, with professional backgrounds in behavioural or medical training may charge a higher rate, than a less specialized sitter.
