I am a veteran pet-crazy college student. My services include pet sitting, feeding, grooming, overnight care, and extra services up for discussion. I have been around cats for the majority of my life and am fluent in cat language. I have 3 years experience with a small "Dorkie" (Yorkshire Terrier and Dachshund mix) and a Shih Tzu dog breed, and a slightly shorter experience with larger dogs, mostly with the commonly misunderstood Pit Bulls. Despite my lack of experience for larger dogs, however, I will guarantee to take care of your pet with love and compassion that they need. What I have come to learn is that every pet has different needs and wants; likes and dislikes. I will analyze and interpret the pet's personality and adjust myself to the individual pet(s). From personal experience, I have concluded that canine and feline companions share something in common: both species need someone that can provide care, attention, and patience, by which I can unquestionably provide. With the owner’s permission, I could also bring a few toys to let the canine or feline exercise their natural instincts and let out some of his/her energy, and perhaps help your pet’s blood flow and thereby also releasing some endorphins helping the pet’s overall mood. Or it can simply just entertain your pets, and in the end: make your pet’s day. I have dealt with a kitty that seemed to be on the grumpier side before. He would always lighten up after a decent play session. I would take out a cat dancer toy and he would let out so much of his anxieties and frustration out onto that toy. He was a much more relaxed and happier kitty with the consistent play. For this pet I would always make sure he had fresh water, which is a given, however, for this kitty, I would change it a few times a day, because gosh darn it that kitty loved to move water in his dish with his litter-paws; it would make that kitty so happy. In my experience with smaller dogs, they can either be highly energetic and full of live, yearning to live life to the fullest, or they can be a very reserved fluff ball that enjoys his routines, and all of the righteous pampering that follow for they are one lucky dog-gy; or they can be somewhere in between. In my more limited experience with bigger dogs, I have realized that the only difference is that despite the natural instinct, the “dog-to-lap” ratio does not work out. I am a petite female, and a bigger dog may be the end of me. Despite the extensiveness of my personal persona, my professional personal for pet care is a bit thin.
