I have spent my entire life around all kinds of dogs of varying reactivity (and non-reactivity) levels. Given the flexibility of a student schedule, I have spent the last 7 years dog sitting and dog walking as a part time job while being in school. Growing up in Calgary and being so close to the mountains, we spent a lot of time hiking, camping and mountain biking - all activities that our dogs would join us on. Given this background, I really believe that "walking the dog" should be less of a chore and more of a stimulating and exciting event for the dog. I have a one year old Golden Retriever, Walter, who has spent his whole life around our family dogs, and friends dogs - so he is very well socialized and loves other animals. We love to get outside, go to the dog park and hike whenever possible. We live in a house so there is lots of a room for the dogs to play if you are looking for overnight or daycare services.
