Hey my name is Amanda. Since the day I was born and brought home from the hospital I have alway had a pets. I have had and taken full care of fish, hamstersm gerbils, mice, bird, rabbits, cats and dogs. I had German Shepherd Doberman Collie Cross for 16 years, which I helped trained to be able to follow all basic commands and more complex commands. My dog was able to follow lead with out a leash on walks, had no agression towards people or other animals. He is still greatly missed and I have been unable to get another dog since his passing, he was one of a kind and nothing could ever replace him. I have had 2 rabbits that were both indoor and outdoor rabbits that both had been litter trained. I have had many Mice, Gerbils, Hamsters, Guinea pigs, Hedgehog's and Chinchillas. I currently have 3 cats ages 8, 6, & 4. My youngest cat has medical problems where she have meds daily which requires me to pilled her, which I do not use food but I use the method most vets use. This pill method is just a personal preference for her due to her current medical condotions, but I have medicated my pets both ways. I have to weigh out her food per day. She also has severe aneixty which requires me to perform calming and distracting techniques to keep her leased stressed. Without these techniques she would be completely hairless. When she gets stressed she over grooms to the point of her removing large patches of fur off her body. So I try to keep her as calm and relaxed as possible at all times. I also choose to keep a daily log book for her which includes her daily calorie intake, her food intake, her mediciation times and doses, and her overall mood and heath. I use this log book to view with my veterinarian to help keep her healthy and the hope that it helps her to live a long full life. I was also employed at a pet groomers for 2 years where I bathed dogs and the odd cat. I cit, shaved and styled all different breeds of dogs, trimmed both cat and dog nails and learned what to do if the nail was cut to close to the quick how to stop the bleeding (doing my very, very best to avoid that from ever happening). I also have help rehabilitate wild Eastern Cottontail Rabbits and Squirrels. I hope that this gives you and idea of how much I love all animals, wild and domesticated. And I would care for your family member(s) as if it where one of my own.
