I am former horse owner over 40 years, I have owned dogs, cats, horses, raccoon, iguanas, birds, fish just about everything. I have many references. I am a pet/house sitter. I am a pet lover of all kinds. I am a 66 year young lady with a lot of experience and love to give your pets or as I say your fur babies big and small. I retired in 2005 with almost 31 years service with the Virginia State Health Department and moved back to Delaware where I grew up. I am very active. I am a very loyal, dependable, dedicated and kind person who will treat your pets and home as if they were my own. I still ride horses every chance that I get. My first Rottweiler that I adopted was a dog the had been picked by the police and animal control that had been abused by its owner. I met this scared puppy the day after he was rescued. He was timid, small for the age of five months old and stunk terrible. I looked in his eyes and knew he needed to come home with me, of course the case against his owners would have to go to court and the judge would have to decide whether the dog would go back to his owner or be put up for adoption. So I put in application to adopt the dog in the event the judge said he would not be returned to his owners. 4 1/2 weeks went by in which I went to the kennel evey weekend and spent time bonding with dog as he was scared and uncertain that the human race was someone he wanted to trust. The day came that the case was heard and the judge said the dog would not go back to his owners and I received the call that I could come get the dog that I had formed a trusting bond with. When I got there and finished filling out all the paperwork the clerk noticed something that I had not been noticed in all the time I had been coming there. I lived in a different county and their policy was that they adopted only to residents in their county. I was devistated and started crying. The clerk said she would be right back and she came back with the manager who proceeded to tell me that they had run into an unusual situation and asked me would I step back in her office for a few minutes. I went with her where she asked someone to go get Clyde (that is what I had named him as my name is Bonnie). Long story short after she asked several questions and watched Clydes interaction with me she asked me where would Clyde sleep if he went home with me? I answered without hesitation on my bed with me. It was that moment she said they would make the exception and send Clyde home with me as they thought I would give him his forever home of kindness and love that he so desperate deserved. That's the kind of person that would be taking care of your babies.
