Overview: Hey my name is Christy! I have taken care of a number of pets and critters over the years, either through owning them, fostering them, or pet sitting them. These animals include dogs, cats, a chameleon, a domestic rat, a guinea pig, and a hamster. I do have the most experience with dogs and cats, though, and I love both equally! In regards to dogs, I have dog sat and dog walked for a number of people in recent years. One such example was in college when I would walk the dog of one of my professors who lived on the campus. I would take her adorable puppy on walks around the college grounds for about an hour a week. More recently, I was a consistent dog sitter for a family in my hometown of St. Louis. I would stay the night at their home while they were out of town for various trips and take care of their older, smaller dog and their 1 year old golden retriever. I also grew up taking care of my family dog, also a golden retriever named Bessie who sadly passed away in 2018. Needless to say, I definitely don't mind dogs! I love being able to care for them and shower them with love and affection. In terms of cats, the very first pet in my family was a cat named Moses. I also have lived with roommates who have owned cats for an extended period of time and have assisting in helping them care for their cats on occasion. I find that cats usually respond well to me because I understand their need to control their approach to a new, unfamiliar person and need their space before they're willing to trust. Services And Training: I while I do not yet have experience caring for animals with medication, I am a Type 1 Diabetic myself and therefore understand the attention and consistency needed in a medication routine.
