I'm Kira - I'm 36, I have a PhD in Music, and I have lived in Santa Cruz for 8 years. I grew up in the Midwest with all sorts of rescue animals (dogs, cats, horses, turtles, chipmunks, sparrows, rabbits!), and now I am mom to a 2.5 year old Formosan Mountain Dog named Ashby and a spunky 13 year old Bombay cat named Izzy. I have also been dog-godmother to many of my friends' dogs! Walking, running, dog parks. I can also work on commands and leash training. I have extensive experience with herding dogs, fearful dogs, and active (or very active) dogs. My own pup has made incredible strides in the past 2 years - FMD's are incredibly intelligent, but stubborn, very anxious, and highly active dogs. Building trust, plenty of exercise, and positive reinforcement is a must.
