Hi! I’m a veterinary student at the University of Pretoria, with 4 years of previous Animal Science study at the University of Manitoba. I’m comfortable working with a variety of animals, and I love all kinds of animals. I've been trained by veterinarians and veterinary technicians on how to properly hold and interact with animals, at the local veterinary clinic I volunteer at. I have 3 years experience of administering medicines and needles at the clinic. I have pet sat over the past 2-3 years. I frequently dog-sat for a large, high energy, black Labrador mix, as well as a senior cat (overnight sitting for 1-3 weeks at a time). I have lots of experience with walking large dogs, and aggressive dogs, as well as feeding cats and dogs. I previously worked at Petsmart, I've been trained in avian, reptile, fish, canine, feline, and small mammal care, and noticing signs of stress in these animals, and how to deal with these accordingly. I have experience in feeding, cleaning and interacting with all of the above animals. I volunteer in grooming, leading and tacking up horses. I am capable of lifting heavy weights such as a draft horses hooves. This comes in handy for lifting dog food, restraining large dogs on leashes, and lifting animals in case of emergency or medical need.
