Pet Sitter in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Hi, My name is Jody and I have been working with pets and their owners my entire working career. I started off working in a boarding facility when I was in high school. I then moved on to pet grooming school shortly after graduating high school. I then spent the next 10 years grooming pets. I then moved on to working in a veterinary hospital as a veterinary assistant. Having had all of these jobs has left me with a long list of things I am capable and experienced with when it comes to your pets. Just a few things that would be relevant to pet sitting/dog walking would be 1. I have been working with dogs in particular for so long that I am very intuned to their behaviors and what they mean. I can discern between a frightened barking growling dog vs an aggressive barking dog and an unsure barking dog. I know how to properly approach an animal that has never met me and get them to feel more comfortable around me. 2. From my experience at working at the animal hospital, I learned a load of information. But some that might apply to sitting and walking would be that I am very experienced at administering medicine. Be it a liquid, a pill, and even insulin shots. I am not a licensed vet tech so I would not feel comfortable giving any other injections. aside from insulin. I also know what to do in the event of an emergency. I have gone through pet CPR and first aid certification courses. I should note that I also have knowledge about several small mammals as well as reptiles and birds. But I think the thing I would like to think is the most important reason why I would like to be your choice as a caregiver for your pet is that animals are my one true passion in life. There is nothing I would rather be doing than working with your pets.
