Pet Sitter in St. George, Utah

Hello :) I worked up at the Ivins Animal Shelter for 7 1/2 months, and had it not been for the commute, I'd still be there. It was definitely one of my favorite jobs. My last day at the shelter, it was suggested to me I should look into offering pet care and sitting. I'm currently dog sitting for a puppy mill mom Yorkie which was brought to the shelter. I fostered and house trained her for a full week before she was adopted, so when her parents go out of town, they like me to watch her instead of putting her in a doggie day care. I've also met seemingly vicious dogs and cats at the shelter, but always earned their trust enough for them to relax with me within minutes. I know not every pet has issues, but I have the patience if they do. I cleaned, sanitized, and disinfected the dog kennels and play pens daily, therefor am not uncomfortable or embarrassed to pick up after a dog, especially while we're on a walk. I thoroughly cleaned litter boxes, kept fresh food and water for the cats, and loved petting them. I'm even comfortable giving medications if needed. I had my own dog since he was a month old, and he lived for 14 years. I walked him 2 miles every morning and every evening, so I love to walk dogs as well. I believe in socializing dogs at dog parks, but will only do so if you're comfortable. I find that when a dog gets to run around a bit and play, he or she is much calmer afterwards. I know of 3 great dog parks in St. George and Washington, where your dog would be safe and have plenty of room to fetch a ball, or play with dogs its own size, and obviously don't mind using my own car to bring them there and back. I would really love to be able to continue working with animals if possible, and would love to be able to help you out if you need.
