Depending on how wealthy the parents are, these trust funds can contain a substantial sum. But a trust fund for a dog? Yes, you heard me correctly. Oprah Winfrey has set up a trust fund for her dogs worth $30 million dollars!! Sure she gives more than that amount to charity, however, most people, even other celebrities, question this degree of excess and wonder how $30 million dollars could be better spent.

Actress Majel Roddenberry, wife of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry, stated in her will , that if she died, her dogs would continue living in one of her multimillion-dollar mansions and would be allotted $4 million for the "upkeep" of their living quarters. In comparison to what Oprah has allotted for the care of her dogs, this figure of $4 million does not seem that bad. But hold it! What is happening to our thinking here! She has a strong personality and has lunch and dinner with him on the table, with her own food of course! She sleeps under a pillow and even knows how to use an iPad. She has 2 full-time pet sitters, one for night and one for day. Would you say beyond excessive?

Society can criticize and judge all they want but, when it comes to celebrities and their pets, nothing is normal. Having an excess of money at your disposal definitely molds your spending habits and values, and as much as we are horrified by these stories of excess...we crave to read more.
