Hello, my name is Joyce. I am a pre-veterinary student completing my undergraduate degree. I was born and raised in Los Angeles and I am currently located in the south bay. I have experience walking all breeds of dogs as well as working with wild animals. I am involved in dog rescue organizations as well. In addition, I do my own, independent rescues and adoptions whenever I see a stray dog in need. I understand how life can get very busy, and after a long hard day, it might be a bit draining to take your beloved dog on the hour long walks he/she would love to go on. So please, sit back, relax, and allow me to take your dog for a fun walk/hike/run. At this time, I am currently only interested in taking on clients with large sized dog(s) who need more exercise. I am physically in shape, trained in proper dog walking/leash handling, etc. My love and compassion for these creatures that we share this world with is beyond measure. My goal in life is to learn as much about them as I can, and do everything in my power to combat animal suffering. However, I have seen a lot of sad as well as good. This has only made me stronger and more prepared. One thing that separates me from most others in my field is my ability to bounce back and continue to thrive after traumatic situations involving animals. I have been exposed to many types of species during all stages of their life, including the end-of-life. A wise mentor at my previous wild animal rescue once told me, "Everything he makes dies." Hearing this profound statement saddened me at first. However, it is what has led me to accept that these precious creatures are only with us for a short period of time, and that time needs to be cherished. I am forever grateful to all animals and the joy they have brought me. As each creature comes in and out of my life, I will continue to grow and learn wisdom from them. As a result, I am always there for any animal in need, any time, any place, any way. Extra Qualifications: I am trained and experienced in rehabilitating, handling, and caring for wild and exotic animals(everything from monkeys to pelicans to owls). I can work with livestock, horses, goats, donkeys, llama's and other livestock. I am able to care for sick or injured animals. I can bottle-feed newborn animals. I am very conscientious of the safety of any animal in my care. I do have a medical background and am quick to pick up on any discomfort or health-related issues a dog may be having. I have been trained in dog safety and various strategic and successful ways to break up a dog fight, should such an unfortunate event happen. I also have a Veterinarian who will immediately respond to any emergencies. So if you need someone to exercise your dog, or even just need some help around the farm, I'm your girl!
