Hi there! My name is Amanda Canda and I am a 26 year old resident of Newport News. I'm currently taking a short hiatus from school to focus on working in preparation for a cross country move. Ever since I can remember, I've been an animal lover. Growing up watching Steve Irwin and camping with my various childhood dogs were early sparks that hinted toward my near obsession with all things living. I was always the weird child oddly interested in reptiles, I lived in a home with people scared to death of snakes, my only opportunities to interact with them was to go to the local museums. I volunteered at one of those museums recently, for 3 years. I was a Herpetology curatorial volunteer at the VA Living Museum, I did everything from animal husbandry to conservation education with the public, which I REALLY enjoy. I have one cat, Panda and I work hard so I can provide her a great life. We often spend time watching Planet Earth together and taking walks in the backyard on her harness. I've cared for many, many species over the years which include but are not limited to; Rats, gerbils, hamsters Non-venomous snakes Turtles/tortoises Small to large lizards Cats Dogs Bunnies Birds Ferrets
