I had my first dog when I was 4, Titou, the Chocolate Poodle and ever since then it has been one long continuous love affair. I have gone to dog training school and my last dog was Thaddy Boy, a spectacular energetic Jack Russell in need of serious athletic maintenance. I love playing with dogs at the beach, and I love to do animal portraits that glow in watercolor, which requires great patience to capture! And I love cats, especially those that have no fear of dogs. When I lived in Key West on my sailboat Actéon I had a orange tabby Japanese Bobtail that had the run of the bight. Once a big brutish labrador chased him right into the water where Hotaru climbed a piling, turned himself facing down and with one free claw swat the intruder across the snout teaching an invaluable lesson about cats!
