i volunteered for two and half years at the Pitchford Animal Shelter (ASPCALA) in Long Beach. The work involved some behavioral training (treating for quiet, sitting, laying down); going through the kennels to check on animal welfare; cleaning of dog runs; making kongs; doing lots of pet laundry. The position also involved cat socializing. Also took animals out to visit with prospective adopters.
