I am a 23 year old professional with a vested interest in animal care and I am currently pursuing further education in the field of animal care and science. I have experience with dogs, cats, reptiles, amphibians fish, and birds, and small pets. (including rats, hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, mice, hedgehogs, and ferrets!) Most of my pet-owning experience includes cats and dogs with disabilities, but I have also owned reptiles and hedgehogs. My biggest asset as a pet-sitter is that I absolutely LOVE what I do - I mean, who doesn't want to get paid to hang out with animals? What could be better? My skills include but are not limited to: following instructions impeccably, including instructions handed down by a licensed veterinarian (that means your vet! I will make sure you pet is taken care of.) I can keep your pet properly medicated and on time - I am experienced with administering subcutaneous fluid injections, oral liquid medications, oral pill medications, monitoring pet vitals, applying topical medications, following very strict diets (prescription or otherwise - my pets themselves are on scheduled meals that are precisely measured, so I understand if a pet parent has a specific diet for their pet!) as well as just generally making sure your pet is behaving and acting normally. I am comfortable using my discretion to know when a pet absolutely needs emergency care if I cannot get a hold of a pet parent, as keeping pets safe and happy is my priority. I use positive reinforcement only, I will never reprimand your pet. I will redirect your pet towards positive situations and decisions. If your puppy is chewing on something they really shouldn't be, I'll simply redirect your puppy towards a "good chew" and praise them when they play with the good chew. I won't overstep anything outlined in any rules or instructions given to me, as it is my goal to make sure your pet is safe and happy! Cleanliness is key. Accidents happen. It will always be my goal for things to be impeccable. :)
