Pet Sitter in Port Aransas, Texas

I'm an
Individual
Hello, My name is Laurie Nathe and I do short term and long term house and pet sitting. I previously had a Professional Pet Sitting Business in the Roaring Fork Valley for over 7 years with over 250 clients. Since then, I have been pet sitting in the US and International. I have seen it all! It's never just a dog walk, is something I have learned and have told my clients after having a house and pet sitting business for over 7 years full time in the Roaring Fork Valley in Colorado and 5 years part time in Colorado and beyond! Caring for over 300 clients homes and a variety of animals. Just imagine, you or a family member gets ill or needs surgery. Planning to leave on a vacation and you are wondering who you can trust to care for your home and pets! Or you are nervous about leaving your home for months at a time without anyone looking in on it daily, and your furnace goes out your house has a plumbing leak and you have no idea! Or you are away and have an accident or there is a natural disaster in the area and you can't get home. As they say, life happens, when you are making other plans. Especially when you are planning a vacation or during the holidays. So it's always a great idea to met with me and have a plan in place before things happen. So I know your home and pets and your wishes. That you can relax that you have a consistent knowledgeable adult that doesn't drink or do with years of experience That way, you are comfortable leaving, knowing your home and your pets schedule. This reduces stress levels for you and your pets. Remember, your home is one of your biggest assets and your pets are family! My experience includes: Having a full time Pet and House Sitting business for over 10 years. House and pet sitting - short and long term in the USA as well as Internationally. When starting my business, I took 5 Vet Tech classes to learn more about caring for a variety of animals. This includes a variety of sizes and breeds of dogs and cats. Walking, hiking and snow shoeing and basic training with dogs. Training and experience caring for exotic birds, reptiles, small critters such as; snakes, iguana's, turtles, fish, hedgehogs, ferrets, gecko's. Farm animals- Horses, a baby lamb (Emma so cute!) llama, geese, bunnies, donkeys and cattle. Medical care trained by vet to do sub Q fluids for cats with kidney failure and insulin injections While you are away, I will give them lots of love and attention, walks, potty breaks, basic dog training, playing, brushing them out and cleaning cats litter boxes daily. As well as I am watching over your home, which is one of your biggest investments. We can discuss customizing my visits to your needs to include: Short or long term house visits, animal care visits, walks, medication administration, overnights and house checks. Working with contractors for cleaning and home repairs. Consulting with your veterinarian when your pets need medications or emergency animal care. Making sure you have a $$ limit in place in case of emergency. Turning lights on and off, collecting mail, newspapers, water plants and gardens, taking out the trash, making sure your home looks lived in and is safe. I am very respectful of your privacy and I will keep you updated via text, emails, photo while you are away! I also do overnights which includes: Evening and morning meals, walks, potty breaks, cat litter cleaning and lots of love and attention. On a personal note, I do not drink or do , I am very respectful of your privacy and your home. With my years of experience I have references to share. It's always been my motto "To contact me before emergencies happen!" IF you had to head out of town on short notice to care for a family member or you yourself have a health care emergency. Let's talk and get to know each other today before an emergency happens. Prices vary depending on the animals, how many visits a day? care and location. Here is a few experiences I have encountered: While I had my full time business, I took groups of 4-12 dogs I took hiking on a daily basis in the Roaring Fork Valley, in Colorado. One of my weekly clients had a health emergency and had to be airlifted to Denver to have a baby. All they had to do was give me a call, and I took care of their home and two dogs while they were gone for over a week! On several occasions, I have had homes have plumbing leaks and furnaces stop working. On one occasion, a client had her hot water tank fail. Which controlled her in floor heat water pipes. Of course, this happened the day before she had planned to leave to travel to see family for Thanksgiving! Because she trusted me to handle it, she was able to continue with her vacation. I stayed in touch with her while working with the plumbers and supervised the repairs and clean up. Another client hired me to stay in their home and ranch for several months while it was for sale. During Christmas week(of course!) the in floor heated pipes broke and flooded the basement. Thankfully, I was living their and shut off the main water and contacted the owners right away. Working with contractors to get the carpets ripped up and the floor repaired. Staying in daily contact by phone, I was their to help keep an eye on the contractor who wasn't being honest and hadn't put up a plastic barrier around the work area creating concrete dust throughout the house! Then when repairs were finished, I was there to help clean up and get the house ready again for sale and assisting with the relators until the ranch was sold! Experiences with animal emergencies! During a nature hike in Colorado, one of my regular dogs snagged himself on barbed wire and needed stitches, an elderly cat died and yes the occasional skunk spray! I have also, had the unpleasant experience with communicating/educating owners when their pets need care. I take this very seriously! The importance of grooming-over grown coats and nails causing their dogs pain and it can hid soars, collars grown into a cats neck, a dog that had an injury that needs care asap and was in pain even though the owner didn't realize she was in sever pain. It's important to understand that animals do not like to show that they are in pain or injured. To know the signs of a dog or cat in pain, an animal that is not able to urinate or eat properly (bad teeth) is important to know. I have been told that I am very intuitive with animals and even the shyest cat comes around. I have also owned and remolded my own home and have had my own rescue dog Chance and several cats, rabbits, geese, gerbils and fish and Charlie who was a baby squirrel. Also, helped with care and foster Mama cats having kittens for the local shelter! In my younger years, I cared, groomed and ridden horses. Even experienced sheering a lama! While having my full time business in the valley, I was insured and bonded and never had an incident. I am very respectful of people privacy and items! I never touch or move unless asked to do so. Animals that I have taken care of: A variety of dogs, cats, small critter such as hedgehogs, snakes, turtles, gecko's, bearded dragons. iguanas Farm critters including: baby lamb, lamas, geese, horses, donkeys and cows. Exotic birds and amphibians I love to garden and will water and care for your plants indoor and out. So please keep in mind. Anyone can say they can care for your home or pets! However, ask them this! Have they ever owned their own home? Have they ever had to deal with an emergency in the home. Have they had/owned their owned a dog or a cat! or any animal? Do you have experience with pet emergencies? Interested in caring for home and pets in Port Aransas, Texas for short or long term. Or a long term opportunity. References available upon request. IF you have a long term need in another location then you are welcome to contact me.
