Hi there! My name is Caitlin, and I LOVE animals. I have years of experience with dogs, cats, and horses, but also have cared for reptiles, amphibians, fish, small mammals, birds, farm animals, etc. I've worked with both domestic animals and wild/exotic animals and have loved them all! I've worked as a pet-sitter, boarding kennel attendant, veterinary assistant, and most recently spent 3 years as the senior animal caretaker for a local dog and horse rescue facility. My specialty is dogs, I have a good grasp on dog behavior and have successfully handled just about every personality type and doggy quirk there is. I am happy to work with dog-reactive, people-reactive, scared, shy, territorial, or food aggressive dogs. If you've been thinking you can't hire a pet sitter, because you wouldn't trust a stranger with your dogs' behaviors... I'm your girl. I personally have a pitbull who is so nervous around new people that she'll growl if they so much as look at her. I specialize in catering to individual animals' needs. No two dogs or cats or horses are the same, and they all need something different. My goal as a dog walker or pet sitter is to make your animals as comfortable and stress-free as possible while you are away. In order to do that, I do my best to keep the same schedule and daily routine that they would normally have. If you have horses, I'm happy to muck stalls and can definitely lift a bail of hay or a bag of feed. I've been around horses since I was very young and even was camp counselor at a riding camp! While my riding skills have definitely disappeared over the years, my knowledge of how to take great care of them hasn't. Having worked at an animal hospital and in barns, I'm comfortable medicating just about any animal and know most types of medication and what it's for. I'm also comfortable giving subcutaneous fluids and caring for animals recovering from surgeries or in need of physical therapy. I have fostered dogs through amputation recovery and have helped get them through cruciate surgery. I've cared for the blind, deaf, elderly, and disabled and am HAPPY to do it!!
