Pet Sitter Job in San Antonio, Texas

We have 6 full time and part time positions available. Experience in the Industry is a plus, but if you love everything that goes into taking care of pets, are a quick learner, ability to multitask and are enthusiastic, we want to talk to you! While experience is preferred, we will train the right person. Continued employment will depend on your ability to perform your assigned duties accurately, with safety in mind. We have a zero tolerance policy regarding . Full time positions will be 35-40 hours a week. Part time positions will vary upwards of 25 hours per week. The ability to work weekends, and holidays is required. Business hours are tentatively set as: weekdays 7:00am -7:00pm, Saturdays 8:00am - 2:00pm & 5pm-6pm, Sunday 4pm-6pm. The staffing schedule outside of business hours is designed around providing proper care for the pets in our facility. All kennel staff are assigned an abbreviated shift on Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter and New Years. The job is physical in nature. There is potential for advancement for the candidate that demonstrates leadership skills, dependability and good judgment. If you are interested, please review our job requirements: * Must be 18 years of age or older * High school graduate or equivalent. * Punctual and dependable. * Ability to lift 40 pounds, stand for long periods of time, bend, kneel, work in tight spaces, and handle dogs weighing in excess of 100 pounds. * Passion for pets as well as a strong work ethic and attention to detail. * Ability to make sound judgments in emergency situations. * Provide loving care to all animals including: feeding, administering medications, bathing, clipping nails, cleaning enclosures and playing with the animals. * Ensure a clean and sanitary facility (Cleaning Yards, Kennels, Etc) * Able to work independently but communicate effectively so as to maintain optimum pet welfare. * Take Reservations over the phone or email. * Check-in and Check-out pets. * Maintain daily records according to task. * Ensure all boarding dogs and cats are given adequate exercise/playtime * Report to the Kennel Supervisor or Manager any potential health or behavioral problems involving the dogs in our care. * Customer service skills. * Keep track of inventory and maintenance issues. * Follow safety and sanitation policies throughout the facility. * Be familiar with vaccination protocols, and sanitation protocols to prevent cross contamination and be able to educate pet owners about it. * Safely manage groups of dogs * Understanding key differences in animal behavior.
