Pet Sitter in North Bay, Ontario

I love animals. I have owned my own cats, ferrets, rats, snakes, hamsters, and fish. I have volunteered at the humane society, and travelled across the world to work in conservation shelters. I plan to do more of that in coming years. I have had diverse training in the pet care field through my visits to shelters, hospitals, and rehabilitation centres. I am more than a boarding house. I consider your pets personal health needs, stress levels, and issues. I currently have an epileptic cat who I care for, but who also loves other animals. If your animal doesn\'t get along with cats my kitty doesn\'t mind staying in my room for the day or evening, but for prolonged visits I can only care for animals that get along with him, or come to your house instead. This past June I participated in an international program with Dr. Sal Renshaw, a professor at Nipissing, to work on conservation efforts in Hong Kong at an institution called Kadoorie Botanical Farms and Gardens. During my stay there I cared for a variety of wild, domestic, and stray animals. Some of which were rescued from the pet trade, and others which were abandoned offspring or injured in incidents with humans. Some of the animals I have cared for were: Mammals -Stray and wild dogs and cats in a veterinarian hospital, and at a shelter in the country-side. -Adoptable cats and dogs at the Hong Kong SPCA (dog walking, cleaning,monitoring) -Training, grooming, and cleaning the enclosure of a captive troop of monkeys (macaques) -Barking deer -A variety of species of bats (mainly abandoned and injured juveniles) -Civet Cats -Leopard Cats -Chinese Porcupines -Wild Boars (Training tricks, mental stimulation, mucking stalls, cleaning enclosure, caring for them) Reptiles: Burmese pythons, monitor lizards, copperheads, Hognoses, milk snakes, king snakes, green tree vipers, many banded craits, water dragons, and a wide variety of domestic, exotic and native turtles (ie. Gold coin turtles, banded box turtles, rose footed tortoises) Bird: Non-Passerines: -Chinese Egrets (juvenile and adults) -Parrots and Macaws with behavioural stress plucking, and some aggressive behaviour. -Typical owls, Barn owns, Spotted owls (adults and juveniles in full care, and veterinarian settings) -Barbets (juveniles) -Black Kites, Northern Goshawk, and Eagles (Wild and captive trained adults) Passerines: -Crows and jays injured by hitting windows, or cars -Chinese and Black Bulbuls (juveniles) -Chinese Thrush -Flamingo
