Hi there, my name is Cindy and I love animals and have had 3 cats since I have been on my own for the past 30 years. My pets have always been female cats but I love cats and dogs and if I were to look after your pet, I would treat your pet like it was my own. I had one cat that had diabetes and I learned how to give her needles twice a day and tested her blood and I spent over $6,000 on her as I was told she was treatable but ended up having to put her to sleep a couple months later. I have always promised my cats that they will never suffer and as hard as it would be to put them down I would do that for them rather than them suffering. My first cat Herbie (she came with the name), I had for 15 years and she was 3 when I first got her and she was spoiled and very snuggable cat and we have a cottage so all our cats have come to the cottage with us every weekend from April to November and from the time we get them we take them out for drives in the car so they get use to travelling. My second cat Gabbie, came from the Toronto Cat Rescue Centre and she only lived til she was 6 as she became a diabetic but got the best treatment possible but she passed away and then and now we have Zoie, who was only 2 months old when we picked her up and she is a ragdoll cat and the first kitten I have ever had. Zoie is now 7 and she is so full of life and has brought a lot of joy and laughter to our lives as not having any children - our pets are our children and Zoie has so much spunk and energy and right from the very beginning has always had regular check ups and again whatever she needs she gets and she eats special food the breeder suggested and she is still on the same brand and we have loved and cared deeply for all of our pets. I would look after your pet as if it was my own and your pet would be left in great hands and well cared for. Thanks Cindy I grew up with us having 2 dogs and a couple of cats and once I left home I had to have a cat so I was given a 3 year old black and white female who was the love of my life. I do not have children so my animals are my children and they get treated very well and very spoiled. My first cat Herbie (she came with the name) was 3 when I first got her and she lived to be 18 years old and she always had regular vet visits, whatever needles she needed and all my cats have been indoor cats. Herbie had gotten sick and started having seisures and being the age she was and they found a mass on her kidneys I have always promised any pet I own that I will never allow them to suffer so the vet thought it was best to have her put down and she was in my arms when she went for her final sleep and it was the most heart wrenching experience I ever went through besides losing my parents which was worse but this was so much similar. So within a couple of months I ended up on the cat rescue website in Toronto and came across this beautiful one year old black and white cat, female so I told the lady my story and she set up an appointment to go see her that weekend and the moment I met her I knew she was it so we paid the bill and took her home and it took us a couple of weeks to name her but she had these little chirps as if she was talking to us so we named her Gabbie and although she did not replace Herbie, she helped to ease the pain....we had Gabbie for a couple of years before she developed diabetes so she got regular check ups, blood work whatever she needed plus we had to give her 2 insulin shots a day 8 am and 8 pm which I would do anything to give her the quality of life. When she turned 6 she started having other issues and ended up at the 24 hour emergency clinic for 4 days and then transferred to my vet (North Yonge Vetinary) Gary was so great with her and it ended up costing me $6,000 in May and in September we had a bunch of tests done again as I felt something was wrong and they did blood work etc which was another $1,000 and on Friday they told me she was great nothing was found in the blood work and on Saturday I had to rush her to the 24 hour clinic again and again on the Sunday and they kept her and that night they called me to come and they had her on life support to keep her alive until I could get there and when I walked in they were putting the paddles on her to bring her back so I could say goodbye to her and she knew my voice when I spoke and just picked up amazingly but it was too late and I had a few minutes to spend with her until they had to put her down and they were so nice that they did a foot imprint of her paw which is sitting in front of her cedar box that she rest's in on our mantel at the cottage where she loved to be along side Herbie as she also loved the cottage. Anyway,s I decided to research cats and wanted a breed as I wanted to know something about the history of the next cat I was going to get and I found the most beautiful blue eyed baby girl ragdoll and we fell in love with her and first time ever to have a kitten but we have had so much fun with Zoie and she is now 7 years old as of last August and she is so healthy and full of spunk but a very spoiled cat with thousands of toys and she gets nothing buy the best. I have also looked after my brother's cockapoo's as they go to Florida every March so I bring the dogs down to our home in Newmarket for the week and we walk them and play with them and then we take them back to their own home in Bracebridge on weekends so they know that they have not been taken away from their home and owners and one of them got sick while we had them and we right away took him to see Gary our vet and he fixed him up and it was over $300 but I didn't care because your animals are your children and even if they are not mine, I treat them like they are and whatever they need they get and if its going to be a lot then I would call the owners and ask for their permission and let them make the decision as to handle things depending on what was wrong. So I would look after anyone's pets as if they were my own and they would be well looked after.
