I'm an
Individual
Hi there everyone! I am a graduate student at Wilfrid Laurier University, currently completing my Master of Science in Psychology, with a specialization in Behavioural Neuroscience. I am currently looking for part-time positions to fill up my schedule while I get my degree, and since I have absolutely loved working with animals my whole life, this seemed like a great fit :) I have owned/cared for many pets throughout my life and have extensive experience, both personally and professionally, in caring for all types of pets. Growing up I cared for my family\'s dogs, cats, horses, and a parakeet. As an adult, I own 2 cats that I care for in my home, one of which has recurring digestive issues and asthma, which requires administering oral medication and treatment with a special inhaler. I have also owned several types of fish with many different needs, including red-bellied piranhas, and currently mudskippers, a species of fish with amphibian-like qualities (they can air-breathe and often stay only partially submerged in the water) - they are adorable :). I also have experience working with animals in a professional context. I currently work in the Animal Care Facility at Wilfrid Laurier University, where I care for rats, pigeons, and guppies, giving them daily water and food, cleaning their cages/tanks, and routinely checking for physical abnormalities. I have experience in all the daily activities of these animals, including feeding and exercise, as well as more occasional maintenance tasks, such as brushing, cleaning/bathing, trimming claws, brushing teeth, maintaining cages/pens, and attending to medical needs. Thanks for your consideration! Hope to hear from you :) Erin I have owned/cared for many pets throughout my life.
