Hi! My name is Abigail, and I am a student at McGill University, living in Montreal. I study Anthropology and Art History, with a particular interest in environment and anthropology. In my life, both with family and on my own, I have lived with and cared for 8 cats, 7 chickens, countless fish, one frog, and one beautiful dog. Since 2011 I have started petsitting, mostly for dogs and cats, both in and out of home. Feeding, socializing, playing, walking, and cleaning up after animals outside of my own menagerie of pet friends has broadened my experience many ages, sizes, and temperaments. I have also volunteered for three years with the Animal Rescue Network of Montreal, fostering and socializing cats and kittens prior to adoption. This has been a highly rewarding experience. I am sad to say goodbye to each cat that is adopted, but wonderfully happy to have provided them a loving home during the wait for a forever family. I look forward to meeting you and your animal companions! Many years of petsitting and caring for my own family pets (three cats, seven chickens, many fish, one frog, and one dog) have given me extensive experience in working with animals. I have been a dog walker and overnight dog sitter, mostly for small to medium-sized dogs of all ages. I have also been a cat sitter, checking up on cats once or twice daily to feed, socialize, and clean litter boxes. For three years I have volunteered to foster cats through the Animal Rescue Network of Montreal, which has helped me become accustomed to nervous or unfriendly cats and taught me how to build trust with unfamiliar animals. While fostering I have also learned how to administer oral medication to sick cats.
