Pet Sitter in Queens, New York
I'm an
Individual
My philosophy is simple. Let dogs be dogs. Now I know some people will see that statement and go “wait, what? That’s obvious,” but it’s not that clear. Dogs need exercise, attention, and a firm hand in order to be completely satisfied in life, and that’s what I offer. I offer exercise in day hikes to well-known trails across the city, awesome play sessions at dog parks, bicycling around the neighborhood, and much more. In terms of attention, dogs in my pack will not feel in the least bit deprived. My house is full of enough love and caring of every furry friend that enters. And in terms of a firm hand, I’ve worked with recognized trainers in New York and afar and have experience and success in working with a host of behavioral issues such as: food aggression, separation anxiety, possessiveness and more. For dogs, going to a new environment is stressful, and in my home, with my pack, they will blend right in and feel like one of the family.
Aside from boarding, walking, and training, I’m also an animal advocate and rescuer. I’m a CNR (capture, neuter, release) certified rescuer with the ASPCA and working with them I have spayed and neutered many animals, clients and rescues alike. Alongside this, I have successfully adopted out a number of pets to loving homes, and that is one of my biggest accomplishments.
A bit about me: After graduating from college, I found myself adrift in a sea of dead-end jobs and never-ending internships. I was miserable, to say the least. I was unhappy with the lack of freedom and fulfillment I had with my work, and I took a step back and reevaluated what I was doing. After talking with a neighbor who had recently gotten sick, I started walking her dog. Word of mouth spread and before I knew it, I was walking dogs around my neighborhood. Being the type of person that has to do things 100%, I started taking training courses and voraciously reading about dog training and care. Slowly this work eclipsed my actual ‘work’ and by the end of 2012, I decided to take the step and establish my own company, which would become Gotham Pet Services. They say that if you enjoy your job you never work a day in your life, and I can honestly attest to that. I love what I do, and I hope to share that passion and dedication with people and dogs alike.
