Dog Walking

Dog WalkingDogs, some of the most common domesticated animals kept as pets, are also the ones that need frequent physical activity, preferably in the outdoors. It is most healthy for a dog to be walked at least once a day, but given the increasingly hectic lifestyles of many dog owners, they often cannot afford to walk their dogs as regularly as necessary.

That is why one of the most widespread services in the pet sitting business is dog walking. The dog walker may walk one dog or multiple owners’ dogs at the same time, always on a leash. Some dog walkers, like in the case of most pet sitting services, go to the home of the pet owner. Others may have their dedicated facilities where the owners have to drop off their dogs. The latter generally include other pet services as well, like training, grooming, or veterinary services. While dog walking is the most common, there are other pet walking services as well, such as cat walking.

If you are a dog owner and feel like you lack the time to walk your dog or dogs frequently, or if you’re a dog lover and would like to pick up dog walking as a pastime (and make some money while you’re at it!), please refer to the Pet Sitting Resources and Starting a Pet Sitting Business sections of this website.
